Final MF&TVV Updates For The Year Of 2007
Now Playing: Breakfast With The Beatles (Beatles For Breakfast!!) on WTIX-FM
Topic: Happy Monkee New Year!
Today we observe Michael Nesmith's 65th and David Jones' 62nd Monkee birthdays.

Also, The Monkees Film & TV Vault lowers the curtain on the year 2007 (and its 10th Anniversary year) with Episode No. 34, "The Picture Frame" (a.k.a. "The Bank Robbery") (prod. #4759, aired on NBC September 18, 1967 and April 1, 1968), being this week's Featured Monkees Episode.

Today's MF&TVV Update
Now Playing: Walton & Johnson on WBYU-FM

Another Christmas under the belt.

As a result, the MF&TVV New Year's page is placed in the stead of the Xmas Monkees Film TV & Vault front page set to the MIDI of “Ríu, Chíu”, with the Featured Monkees Episode Of The Week, "The Monkees Christmas Show", remaining. Also corrected a slight error on the page;  HEAD is not on this month.

Another MF&TVV Xmas Eve Update
Now Playing: Walton & Johnson on WBYU-FM

Re-examined, re-corrected and re-uploaded all of the episode capsules in  The Monkees' second season, upon learning that the serial numbers of The Monkees - Season 2 DVD Boxed Set in the Home Video Releases listings had also been goofed (perfectionist that I am ).

Today's MF&TVV Christmas Eve Updates
Now Playing: Xmas music on WTIX-FM

On examining "It's A Nice Place To Visit..." and every Monkees' second-season episode capsule from "The Card-Carrying Red Shoes" to "Mijacogeo" (a.k.a. "The Frodis Caper"), I noticed in the Home Video Releases listing that The Monkees - Season 2 DVD Boxed Set from Rhino had been erroneously listed with the date of release for Rhino's The Monkees - Season 1 DVD Boxed Set (May 13, 2003)! So naturally, this oversight has been rectified—along with the addition of a new Production Note to "It's A Nice Place To Visit...".

Consider it my Xmas gift to all you devout Monkeedevotees!

This Week's Monkees TV Almanac (12/23-29/07)
Now Playing: A special Xmas edition of Breakfast With The Beatles on WTIX-FM

DECEMBER 23, 1972

“The Royal Flush”, the premiere episode of The Monkees (prod. #4701, aired on NBC September 12, 1966 and May 8, 1967), was repeated @ 1:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC.

DECEMBER 25, 1967

"The Monkees Christmas Show"
(prod. #47??) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC as the 47th episode of The Monkees.

The sponsor was Yardley Of London™, and the show featured Peter, Michael, David and Micky sing an a capella rendition of the Old Latin Christmas Carol, “Ríu, Chíu”.

Interesting Note: this one Monkees Christmas episode was shot in the week of Thanksgiving!

DECEMBER 25, 1971

"The Monkees Christmas Show", Episode No. 47 of The Monkees (first aired on NBC December 25, 1967), was repeated @ noon Eastern on CBS.

DECEMBER 26, 1966

“The Son Of A Gypsy”
(prod. #4724) first aired @ 7:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC as the 16th episode of The Monkees.

This episode was sponsored by Slicker and Black Label by Yardley Of London™ and featured “I’m A Believer”, written by Neil Diamond and produced by Jeff Barry. For those of you who tuned in and turned on this week, these are the original commercials you would've seen: Eyelighter by Yardley, Kellogg's Rice Krispies, Kellogg's Special K, Slicker Lip Polish by Yardley, Oh! De London by Yardley, and The Monkees for Yardley Black Label Aftershave.

Trivia Footnote: As this episode made its first-run telecast over NBC, The Monkees played their first gig on their 12-city U.S. tour at The Denver Coliseum in Colorado.

Today's MF&TVV Updates
Now Playing: A special Xmas edition of Breakfast With The Beatles on WTIX-FM

Starting to feel a lot like Christmas down south here in The Big Easy...

Speaking of which, Episode No. 47, "The Monkees Christmas Show" (prod. #47??, aired on NBC December 25, 1967) is The Featured Monkees Episode Of The Week, taking full-frontal advantage of The Big Day this Tuesday.

Also noticed numerous Monkees episode pages recently enhanced with extended synopses had rather huge paragraphs and divided new paragraphs from them. These modifications can be spotted in “The Royal Flush”, “The Case Of The Missing Monkee”, “Find The Monkees” (a.k.a. "The Audition"), “The Monkees On Tour”, "The Picture Frame" (a.k.a. "The Bank Robbery"), "Monkees Marooned", "A Coffin Too Frequent" and "Some Like It Lukewarm" (a.k.a. "The Band Contest").

Here's wishing you and yours...

SEASON'S GREETINGS!!!

Today's MF&TVV Updates
Now Playing: An MP3 of The Beatles' "Piggies" on InterVideo WinDVD 4

And so, the Monkees episode synopsis upgrades come to a close, with "Hitting The High Seas", "The Monkees On The Wheel", "The Monkees Christmas Show" and "Fairytale" being the last Monkees eppy pages to have extended synopses, and vast portions of “Here Come The Monkees” (Original Pilot Film)'s beefed-up synopsis adapted to HERE COME THE MONKEES: The Original 1965 Pilot Episode.

Deep thanks are extended to I Luv The Monkees! Monkees episode guide, whose lengthy Monkee episode synopses this site benefited greatly from (it also makes great use of the HEAD synopsis from this site).
